Commander Wilson was right. It was hard; it was tough. There were actual mountains to climb and vitamins – BLEURGH! We had different challenges every day and the loser was disqualified. Eventually, there were just two of us left: me and April Apricot, my main rival to get into space.
We had one final challenge remaining, a back-breaking obstacle course. The challenge was to take place the next morning but later that day I discovered that April had broken her leg. I was heartbroken for April but thrilled for myself. I was going to be the first child in space.
